After a nearly two-year process, Sam Zell and Tribune Co. plan to name a winning bidder for the Chicago Cubs by the middle of the coming week, according to two people involved with the bidding. WSJ.com.
We’ll keep you posted when the inevitable announcement that things have been delayed is released.
Also, Bruce Levine is reporting that the “winner” is going to be Tom Ricketts and his family. All that would mean is that he gets the right to do the final negotiating. We’ll see how it plays out.
