The Orioles have made a move to potentially fill the third
slot in their starting rotation, acquiring left-hander Rich Hill from
the Cubs for a player to be named later on Monday.Hill, who turns 29 on March 11, went 18-17 with a 4.37 ERA in 64
appearances (57 starts) over the past four seasons with the Cubs. The
southpaw went 11-8 with a 3.92 ERA in a career-high 32 starts in 2007
but went 1-0 with a 4.12 ERA in five starts with the Cubs last season
before being optioned to Triple-A Iowa on May 3.Hill is out of options, so he’ll have to make the Orioles’ 25-man
roster out of Spring Training or be exposed to other teams. Cubs.com.
Now let’s all watch as Rich Hill gets his act together, fixes the
slide-step problem the Cubs created for him, and pitches lights out
for the next 10 years. And the Cubs somehow end up with Freddy Bynum.
