Geovany Soto Smoked Some Pot

Chicago Cubs

At the World Baseball Class, Geovany Soto tested positive … wait for it … for marijuana. Duuuude.

The good news is that he won’t be suspended by MLB, though he’s been booted from international competition for two years. Additional bad news includes an increasingly diminished supply of Ho-Hos and Funyuns on the North Side.

“I am embarrassed by my lapse in judgment,” he said in a statement released during Thursday’s 6-5 loss to Detroit. “While I fully acknowledge my inappropriate behavior, I want to assure my fans and my family that this was an isolated incident.”

“I fully understand the ramifications of my actions,” Soto said. “I have and will accept any and all consequences.” Yahoo! Sports.

The Cubs aren’t going to punish Soto either, at least not now that he’s started hitting.
