Obsessive New Ownerwatch: Deal Done in Two Weeks

Chicago Cubs

It’ll be too late to do anything this season trade-wise, but it’ll be nice to just be done. Plus, if the Cubs can’t win with this $140 million monstrosity, adding one player isn’t going to change things. Unless that player is Jeff Baker!

Tom Ricketts and the Tribune Company are working towards the deal that would give Ricketts possession of the Cubs and it should be done in the next two weeks, barring any unforseen circumstance.

Since Major League Baseball then has to approve the deal before Ricketts is officially the Cubs new owner, the entire process should be finalized before the end of August. Kap’s Corner.

Just in time for the 2010 planning to start. Lulz.
