Not that I’m recommending anyone start thinking about next year, but MLB has released its schedules for next year. Among the highlights for the Chicago Cubs:
The Cubs will open their 135th season on April 5 in Atlanta and play their Wrigley Field opener on April 12 against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The new schedule marks the eighth time in the last nine seasons the Cubs have opened the season on the road, the exception being the 2008 campaign.
The season-opening road trip features a pair of three-game sets in Atlanta April 5-8 (off day April 6) and in Cincinnati April 9-11.
The first Cubs homestand features two series and six games. fter three games against the Brewers April 12-15 (off day April 13), the homestand concludes with a three-game weekend set against the Houston Astros April 16-18.
The 2010 schedule features six interleague series, including the traditional home-and-home sets against the White Sox (June 11-13 at Wrigley Field, June 25-27 at U.S. Cellular Field) and a series against all four American League West foes. The Cubs host the Oakland Athletics (June 15-17) and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (June 18-20). The Cubs visit Texas (May 21-23) and make a trip to Seattle (June 22-24). Daily Herald.
