Obsessive Bradley Trade Watch: Mini Update

Joel Sherman of the New York Post has tweeted that, if the Cubs are
able to swing a Milton Bradley / Pat Burrell swap, the Mets are
interested in a Burrell / Luis Castillo swap. This is, of course, an
iteration of the three-way deal that has been discussed at length for
weeks, but this is the first concrete indication that the Mets are on
board. If that’s the case, you’ve got to believe this has serious
legs. The sticking point will be how much money goes to whom. The Cubs
aren’t eager to eat more than $5 million of Bradley’s 2011 salary, but
would take on all of Burrell’s 2009 money. Thus, it appears the Cubs
would be looking to pay a total of about $13 or 14 million to (a)
acquire Luis Castillo, and (b) get rid of Milton Bradley. That’s a
pretty steep price.

Jed Hoyer Confirms That the Cubs Regretted Non-Tendering Kyle Schwarber
