Angel Guzman has never been a model of health in his time with the Chicago Cubs. But at least we knew about it.
Now, the guy is having surgeries that we don’t even hear about.
Cubs reliever Angel Guzman had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee two weeks ago in Mesa after tearing his meniscus while working out last month in Venezuela.
General manager Jim Hendry said Guzman will be a couple weeks behind the other pitchers but will be ready for the start of the season. Chicago Breaking Sports.
Guzman, 28, was a critical part of the Cubs’ bullpen last year (to the extent anyone could have been considered “critical” to that piece of crap), and his health will be of paramount importance to his continued success. Fortunately it was a minor procedure, but Guzman’s troubles had generally been in his arm and shoulder. Let’s hope the darkness isn’t spreading.
