I really don’t know what to make of today’s news that Carlos Silva had to leave his Spring outing a bit early with leg issues. Is that the product of a vengeful God, or a benevolent one? You know, a broken road kind of deal?
Carlos Silva left his start two innings with what was described as a tight quadriceps muscle in his right leg, although he went to the bullpen and continued to work, so it did not appear to be serious.
The Cub starter had allowed the reds one run in two innings, a home run by Layne Nix. He appeared to strain the muscle on the next batter, although he finished the inning. Chicago Breaking Sports.
We’ll see how serious the injury is. Knowing out luck, it will be just serious enough to derail any kind of meaningful resurgence Silva’s career was about to have – but not serious enough to park him on the sofa.
