The layoff wasn’t any cure to the Cubs’ offensive woes. If you take out an anomalous 5-0 win against the Cardinals last week, the Cubs have scored a whopping seven runs in their last six games. And yet, here the Cubs were again, with a lineup that featured Ryan Theriot, Derrek Lee, and Aramis Ramirez hitting back-to-back-to-back at the top of the order. I fail to understand what Lou Piniella is thinking at this point.
Oh, and Carlos Zambrano was just meh.
