Chicago Cubs catcher Geovany Soto is out until at least Monday with a shoulder strain. The Cubs are calling it a “mild ligament sprain,” and it bothers Soto when he hits. Koyie Hill will continue to get starts while Soto is out.
If Soto is not able to return early next week, the Cubs might consider putting him on the disabled list, and calling up one of their back-up-level catchers in the high minors (Chris Robinson, Steve Clevenger, Welington Castillo, Robinson Chiniros).
