The Chicago Cubs continue to look as possible relievers to add to the mix for 2011. You can add Jesse Crain to the list of guys the Cubs are considering. Crain, 29, is coming off an excellent 2010 season (3.04 ERA in 68 innings, with a 1.176 WHIP), but you have to go all the way back to 2005 to find another season quite that good.
One reliever the Cubs had been considering is off the board. Yesterday, Jason Frasor accepted the Blue Jays’ offer of arbitration, so he’ll be staying in Toronto. It would have taken far more than he’s worth to sign him as a free agent anyway, so this is far from bad news.
