Reed Johnson, whose return from the DL with back issues was delayed by a ball to the head, was activated just in time for tonight’s game against the Brewers (paperwork about his concussion clearance took a bit longer than expected). He’ll play center field and bat eighth.
In a corresponding move, the Cubs sent Tyler Colvin back to AAA Iowa. Although Colvin had finally started to pick up a hit here and there, the move is probably the right one – he’s not helping the Cubs right now, so he probably should be getting regular starts in the minors.
