Carlos Marmol’s walk-off wild pitch yesterday didn’t make me nearly as mad as his failure to pay any attention at all to Jayson Werth on second base. Werth stole third without a throw on Marmol’s first pitch. Marmol later admitted he was focused solely on the batter. That ain’t good when the winning run is standing 60 feet behind you, and it’s a guy who already had nine steals on the year.
