A day later, the Cubs will try to recover from an all-around ugly even in St. Louis. They’ll try salvage the last game of the series, and forget the disastrous 12-run inning last night. Apparently it’s costume day for the Cubs (Tony Campana dressed as The Flash, Anthony Rizzo dressed as Buzz Lightyear, etc.), so maybe that will keep things a bit lighter than they might otherwise be. Apparently it was Matt Garza’s idea, and the Cubs are to dress as superheroes on the way to Pittsburgh tonight.
Pics or it didn’t happen.
On today’s lineup, it’s probably nothing, but Geovany Soto gets another day off – his second in this series. It’s not a strict platoon with Steve Clevenger, so, in a series facing three right-handers, it’s strange to see Clevenger get two starts. I’m not saying anything’s brewing, I’m just saying … it’s odd.
