Here We Go: Another Chance to Win a Share of $300 by Playing Some Fantasy Baseball

You once again have the opportunity to (1) win cash, (2) by playing a free game, and (3) help support Bleacher Nation. Sweet, huh? Your attention is appreciated.

Bleacher Nation has been given the opportunity to host an exclusive,* one-day, FREE fantasy baseball contest through DraftStreet.com, this Friday, August 17. We had a blast the last couple times, and, if you missed out, here’s your chance to get in on the action.

The best part? The total payout for this free contest is $300 – and 15 people win cash. And, by participating, you’re supporting Bleacher Nation – which would be all kinds of awesome. Think of it this way: you get 365 days of free content from me, and in return, I ask only that you sign up for a free, cash-winning fantasy baseball contest (or to force me to blog for 30 hours, but this helps, too – you’re all so giving!). Sounds fair to me.

Ok. So what is the contest?

It’s a one-day fantasy baseball showdown (and I say showdown, because you better believe I’m playing, too) based on MLB games this Friday, August 17. We did one of these each of the last two months, and it definitely makes that day of baseball all the more exciting. It’s not like a whole season of fantasy baseball, and you don’t even have to understand fantasy baseball to enjoy playing (for the record, I don’t play fantasy baseball).

Here’s how you play: First, sign up for free at DraftStreet. It’s easy. Then, “join the league,” and put together your team. This time will be “pick ’em style” drafting. The way Pick ‘Em leagues work is there are eight tiers of players – both pitchers and positional players – and each tier will have anywhere from three to ten players in them. All you have to do is select one player from each tier. You can pick anyone you want, one each from each tier. I’ve played in a couple of these style now, and I had a great team put together in five minutes.

The contest runs on Friday using Friday’s games, so you just have to sign up and have your team set by then.

Sign up now for free. Build a team (you can adjust your roster up until the 7:05pm ET (6:05 CT) games start). Then check out the scoreboard when the games start on Friday, August 17, and watch your team win you cash. Or watch my team destroy yours (which, like, I haven’t been able to do yet…). It’s that easy, and it is a lot fun.

The sooner you sign up, the more time you’ll have to tinker with your lineup, which is a big part of what makes this so much fun. Just putting it out there. So, you know, sign up today.

*Note, because of the exclusivity, only folks who sign up for Draftstreet via Bleacher Nation (either this year or last year) can participate in this particular contest. If you signed up for Draftstreet via another method (another site, for example), you can still participate in a free contest, it just won’t be this particular free one. You’ll see what I mean when you sign in. If you aren’t permitted into this contest and you think that’s an error (i.e., you DID originally sign up for Draftstreet via Bleacher Nation), just send me an email and we’ll get it straightened out (brett AT bleachernation DOT com).

Another note: residents of some States are not eligible to play, so if you’re blocked out for that reason, my most humble apologies.
