It’s the seventeenth episode of a super awesome podcast featuring me and Sahadev Sharma (and a guest!). You can listen to the podcast there below, or download it for later listening. You can also subscribe via iTunes. Here’s your iTunes link, and you can also find it by searching in the iTunes store. For those of you who use other feed-catching services, here’s the podcast feed. For those of you just tuning in who want to catch up on prior episodes, here’s the whole lot.
As always, you can send questions, comments, etc. to the official podcast email address (podcast AT bleachernation DOT com) if you want your thoughts included on a future show. Today’s emails got us into some great topics, including our thoughts on who would win the final couple spots in the Cubs’ bullpen, who complains the loudest about scrappy players, and where Sahadev and I see ourselves professionally in 5/10 years. I realize only now that neither of us said “doing a podcast.” For shame.
This week dig into Spring Training with the guy who knows Cubs Spring Training as well as anyone: Tim Sheridan, the voice of the Cubs in Mesa (he’s the PA announcer for games at HoHoKam), and the man behind Boys of Spring. Tim gives you a great sense of what it’s been like to be around for Spring Training with the Cubs for 30 years, what happens when a new sheriff comes to town, and how the Cubs can use his services for pranks.
We also talk about Matt Garza’s injury and the implications thereof, the Tony Campana trade (and what it says about the fan base), Jorge Soler’s batting practice shows and what they mean, and THE BUNT TOURNEY, COMPLETE WITH FAKE SOUND EFFECTS!
Enjoy:
