Look closely at the lineup today, because Dale Sveum says it’s his Opening Day look (sans the DH, obviously). There really aren’t any surprises if you’ve been paying attention to the lineups this Spring. Of course, if Chris Rusin is starting for the Cubs on Opening Day, things have gone even more disastrously than they have already.
Speaking of Rusin, he’ll look to continue his hot Spring, and stay in Sveum’s mind as a possible second lefty in the pen (plus being a potential long reliever). And, if there is another injury in the rotation – heaven help us – Rusin might well be the next guy in line to join the rotation. I’m sure he’d like to stay there.
