The Cubs led briefly late in this one, and, although a diving Ryan Sweeney catch in center field in the 7th briefly preserved that lead, James Russell gave it up on a Mark Trumbo homer in the 8th. That kind of sucked. Then, with the game tied in the ninth, the Cubs put two on with no outs … and failed to score thanks to three straight pop outs. That kind of sucked.
But then Anthony Rizzo hit a two-out, bases loaded double in the tenth that cleared the bases and gave the Cubs the win. That was kind of awesome.
