As we watched the Cubs lacking for a hit well into the territory in which you can say, “the Cubs are currently getting no-hit,” for the third consecutive day against the Pirates, it really didn’t seem like they had any shot of winning. Instead, it looked like the kind of day where you could say, “well, at least Edwin Jackson finally had his first great start.”
And he did. But then the Cubs came through late, Carlos Marmol pitched a great inning in relief, and Kevin Gregg got the save. Le what?
