Oh, yes. We went there.
Mere minutes after ESPN’s Keith Law broke the news of the Cubs’ big Scott Feldman (*and* Steve Clevenger!) trade today, Sahadev Sharma and I had him on the phone to be a guest on the latest episode of the BN Podcast (Episode 33, if you’re counting).
Ok, so it was just the most happy of coincidences, but, still. Can’t beat that timing.
In this week’s episode, Keith offers his thoughts on that Feldman/Clevenger/Arrieta/Strop trade, as well as the Cubs’ moves to pick up additional international signing pool money. Keith also gets into the Cubs’ draft approach, the state of the farm system, and the possible return in a Matt Garza deal. We also press him on a few specific prospects, including Pierce Johnson, Jeimer Candelario, and Arismendy Alcantara.
Keith also shares his (shocking) views on ‘Breaking Bad,’ and the unfortunately high water mark for television that was ‘The Wire.’
Sahadev and I also talk about the day’s moves and the implications of Keith’s thoughts after he departs. Inevitably, ‘Breaking Bad’ comes back up. Also, baseball.
