Brace yourself, because this week’s podcast is a long (which necessarily means it’s good, right?) one. You may need to break it up …
This week, Sahadev and I talk about the Cubs’ first half, and some of the disappointments. We talk about prospects, we talk about scouting, we talk about how you can use old school stats, we talk about “renting” players (literally), we talk about crapshoots, and so much more. And those are just the emails!
We also get into our 2014 expectations as they relate to how the team has performed so far this year.
The big focus, given the time of year, of course, is the trade market, and we discuss how teams may view trades differently than fans/analysts. We also go over the Cubs’ entire roster and discuss the trade value/implications/rumors/etc. for every single player.
And if you were a big Rick Watkins fan back in the day (not a typo), tune in for the first 10 minutes.
