BN Trade Deadline Blogathon: Hour 33
I am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, and on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves) – for 36 hours straight, until slightly past MLB’s July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline, thanks to your generous donations to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, Series Preview, Pre-Gamin’, EBS), as well as an uptick in rumor/trade posts.
I definitely didn’t think I’d be writing up the Hour 33 Update without having analyzed a single trade yet – heck, we haven’t even had a specific rumor to dissect and obsess over.

A bunch of miscellaneous rumors here, and some chatter about the Cubs not making a move. The Padres and Diamondbacks completed the Ian Kennedy deal.

Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:
I don’t mind them playing chicken with the pieces they have left to deal, even if it makes my day a little tougher. I, too, am in this for the long haul.
Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:
Back to water, but downing peanut butter M&Ms and pretzel M&Ms. Comfort food, I guess. This has been a very healthy experience …
Strangest Thought Passing Through My Mind:
My, like, neck/shoulder area hurts from craning my neck toward my computer for 30+ hours, and constantly reaching my hands back and forth from the keys. I need a massage stat.
