Apologies for the delay – I was en route to Chicago so I can take in tomorrow’s version of this madness.
The Cubs got whooped by the White Sox tonight, ensuring that they will lose the Crosstown Cup, and that every writer in Chicago will have something to crow about for a good long while. Travis Wood had a rough go of it thanks to control issues and an erratic strike zone. It was his worst outing in a good long while, and I’m already ready to move on from it.
The bats have really been scuffling, and couldn’t quite muster much of anything against John Danks, who has been eminently beatable by all teams out there not named the Cubs.
At least the cleanup crew in the bullpen did a really nice job.
