Last night, the Cubs put together one of their best all-around games on the season – just a typical, solid win (i.e., the kind you don’t see from the Cubs too often these days). They’ll try it again tonight, with Edwin Jackson heading to the hill.
Speaking of Jackson, he’s quietly been quite good this year, at least after his third start. From then on, he’s posted a scant 3.05 ERA over 38.1 innings, with 34 strikeouts and just 9 walks. That’s a middle-of-the-rotation guy right there.
Pretty similar lineup tonight, with the only change being Darwin Barney swapped out for Luis Valbuena, with Mike Olt’s spot in the lineup shuffled accordingly.
