I joke about the morning baseball stuff, but, even if you aren’t Eastern Time like me, you better not actually be only just now eating breakfast.
The Cubs and Marlins play their rubber match today, with Jake Arrieta on the mound for the Cubs, looking to extend his recent streak of dominance. He’ll be opposed by Nathan Eovaldi, who’s been fantastic for the Marlins this year. He pretty much dominated the Cubs just two starts ago, and this time they’ll load up with lefties to face him. He’s got a nearly 150 point career OPS platoon split, with lefties hitting .294/.362/.428 off of him.
Hopefully Arrieta wasn’t distracted by those probably-bogus trade rumors earlier in the week.
