A series win is on the line tonight, but, perhaps more importantly, Edwin Jackson’s season. Maybe not literally. But at some point, a series of bad starts becomes your season.
The righty has fallen on hard times in the last month, and he could really use a solid, end-to-end, seven-or-so inning start. He’s got to come out early throwing strikes, keeping the ball down, and showing decent fastball velocity. That seems to be the question with Jackson in the early innings.
Mat Latos is making just his third start back from a myriad of early-season injuries.
