You fine folks have graciously been donating to Make-A-Wish to support their efforts to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. You’ve also selfishly been donating so that you can see me lose my mind amidst crazy rumor coverage at this year’s Trade Deadline for the BN Blogathon.
That’s because I’ve offered to blog for 24 hours straight at the deadline this year, and, if you donate $6,000 to Make-A-Wish – enough to sponsor one child’s wish – I’ll bump that up to 30 hours.
We’re just one day into raising funds, and you’ve already got us halfway to that first tier goal, with $3,081.23 in donations!
That is an incredible start, and it brings me great joy to say please deprive me of sleep! Get us to $6,000 to lock in 30 hours of straight coverage at the deadline on July 30 and 31.
And, of course, if you really blow it out, I’ll tack on another hour for every extra $1,000 you donate. If the final figure tops $12,000 – enough to sponsor two wishes – I’ll blog for 37 straight hours at the deadline. That’s one hour longer than I did last year, which I can tell you was not easy.

Please share the Blogathon fundraiser with your friends and family so we can make some really special things happen for young Cubs fans who deserve some joy.
