Yesterday, during the Futures Game, I tweeted this:
I'm all tingly. RT @AllStarGame: .@javy23baez absolutely CRUSHES a home run for the World Team. They take a 2-1 lead.
— Brett Taylor (@BleacherNation) July 13, 2014
As it turned out, that tingly sensation wasn’t exclusively the product of Ruthian prospect power – it was also the 104.1 fever I was rocking. I didn’t really know how bad it was, because I was mostly OK yesterday and was driving home from Chicago (with an assist from my Braves fan buddy who took over driving about halfway through). Couldn’t check my temp until I got home.
And when The Wife saw how high it was, she banned me from writing until I was better. I feel absolutely awful, but it’s still hard not to post today, because there’s actually a fair bit that I wanted to get into. Ultimately, The Wife is right, though, and I need to rest. Hopefully I’ve kicked this at least a little bit by later today, but I won’t make any commitments.
Sorry, all. Hope to see you again soon.
In the meantime, you can get a modest fix of Cubs-related BN stuff by checking out my spot on The Jordan Bernfield Show yesterday on The Game, in case you missed it:
