It’s Jake Arrieta Day!
The weight of expectation we now place on Jake Arrieta is unfortunate, but it is the product of both what has happened to the Cubs (lots of losing, two starters traded away), and how well Arrieta has pitched this year. I don’t require him to keep pitching like a sub-2.00 ERA guy, but I’m going to enjoy the hell out of the ride. I just want to see him maintain his pitchability and his health the rest of this year.
And I kinda wanna give him a fist bump.
