BN Trade Deadline Blogathon: Hour 23

Chicago Cubs

dusty sleeping blogathonI am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, and on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves) – for 37 hours straight, until slightly past MLB’s July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline, thanks to your generous donations (more than $15,000) to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, news, Pre-Gamin’, EBS), as well as a significant uptick in rumor/trade posts.

The weird live stream is now behind us – may it forever remain behind us – and we’re very much now in the deepest depths of the overnight period. All is extremely quiet.

And now that my energy is coming back down from the live stream, I-no-feel-so-good.

Total Posts So Far:

News and Rumors Since the Last Recap:

There was an addition to the ongoing Emilio Bonifacio rumors, with his agent reportedly telling Bonifacio that a trade is coming.

Most Interesting Tidbit Since the Last Recap:

There are a surprising number of you who stayed up for that live stream. And I love you for it.

Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:

I’m glad they made a move yesterday (Doubront), a move earlier in the week (Barney), and a move earlier in the month (Samardzija/Hammel). Because, if they hadn’t, I’d be way more nervous and stressed right now.

Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:

Back to my Coke Zero. In a goblet!

Number of Failed Attempts to Re-Collar Our Feistiest Cat:

It will forever stay just 3, because … see the visual update below …

Hat Status:

A little wet. I treated myself to a shower to freshen/waken up a bit, but I did not remove the hat. I’m committed.

Strangest Thought Passing Through My Mind:

May no future employers ever watch that live stream. Maybe I’ll never have a future employer.

Your Visual Update:

I am the champion.
