So far, midseason replacement pitchers Kyle Hendricks and Tsuyoshi Wada have pitched exceedingly well. With guys like Felix Doubront and Dan Straily joining the organization and also pushing for late season starts, they’ll have to keep it up, at least until and unless innings limitations come into plate.
Hendricks did his thing last night, and now it’s Wada’s turn. He’s coming off a dominating performance against the Rockies, but the Dodgers will be a slightly stiffer test.
Wada will be opposed by Hyun-Jin Ryu, who has quietly been excellent since coming to the States before last season. The Cubs reportedly finished second in the bidding for him. Hamburgers.
Chris Valaika will make his Cubs debut, playing third base.
