I know that it’s hard to think about anything else that will take place in this series besides JAVIER BAEZ!!!, but there is a fair bit of meaning here. Just as was the case when the Cubs took three of four from the Rockies at Wrigley last week, this series means a lot in the (reverse) standings. There’s also some fun pitching in this one (including Travis Wood, who could be a blast at the plate in Coors Field, right?).
We’re Going Streaking
The Cubs have won five of their last seven, which includes a series win against these Rockies and another one over the mighty Dodgers. How about that?
The Rockies, on the other hand, dropped that series to the Cubs and then just got swept by the Tigers.
