A pitching performance not seen since, well, the times when Jake Arrieta does that kind of thing.
Kyle Hendricks still doesn’t strike a lot of guys out, but he continues to pitch *his* kind of game, inducing a number of groundballs, and outthinking the opposing hitters. Oh, and walking no one, which is even more impressive when you consider that he’s in the zone all night and NOT get knocked around.
Speaking of getting knocked around, the Cubs got a good night from Arismendy Alcantara, who had been due for a good one. Anthony Rizzo knocked his 26th homer, for which he’d also been due.
Solid win.
