Kris Bryant’s 40th Home Run on the Season Was a Walk-Off (VIDEO)

Chicago Cubs

The last time a Chicago Cubs prospect hit 40 homers in a single season was …

I actually have no idea. I don’t want to be so bold as to say it’s never happened, but it certainly isn’t an easy feat to pull off, given the shorter season, the learning processes involved, and the wide range of ballparks.

With his homer last night, Kris Bryant has done it for the Cubs – 22 at AA Tennessee and 18 at AAA Iowa. And he’s got time to hit a few more.

The one last night was particularly awesome, as it came in the 12th inning and gave the I-Cubs a walk-off win:

A no-doubter right off the bat. I appreciated the very gentle hop-around at the plate, too. We don’t need a Kendrys Morales situation.

You can check out some pictures of the event here:

Which also gives me an opportunity to say that you should check out Dylan’s site and shop where you can get prints of these kinds of awesome pictures. That’s not an advertisement, mind you, I just thought you should know.

The game was Bryant’s shirsey night, too. All just perfect.
