I can’t say I remember seeing this commercial back in the day, but I can say that my life will never quite be the same. Reddit Baseball (by way of Dayn Perry) found a video of Sammy Sosa from 2001 that is painfully real:
It’s so reeeeeeeaaaalllll.
This is fun on so many levels:
- It reminds us that there was a time that the Cubs had a superstar so noteworthy that he was staring in national baseball game commercials;
- It reminds us that Don Baylor was once the manager of the Cubs;
- It reminds us that video games used to look like that;
- It reminds us that cell phones used to look like that;
- It reminds us that there was a time when everyone loved Sammy Sosa.
After watching this video, how can the Cubs not bring Sammy back into the fold? He can keep it real.
