Hey, man. It was Kershaw versus Jackson. What did you expect?
OK, well, maybe not quite this.
Edwin Jackson lasted just 0.2 innings in his return from a lat strain, and, while the velocity looked good, absolutely nothing else did. He couldn’t command his secondary pitches and his location was all over the place. It was just an ugly outing to pile on top of a bunch of ugly outings, and you have to wonder whether it was the last ugly outing Jackson will have in a Cubs uniform.
Dan Straily also really, really struggled – as he has with the Cubs – in a little bit of relief work, and although Eric Jokisch allowed just one earned run, he did get pwned twice by A.J. Ellis for some reason.
The bottom of the first inning was a little fun, though.
