Here it is: Game 162. The final game of the year. One last chance to go out on a high note.
The Cubs can avoid 90 losses for the first time in four years, and, boy, I’d really like to see that. Jacob Turner can close it out with a productive start. Javier Baez could go without a strikeout for the first time in 22 games. Jorge Soler could close out an impressive opening run. Anthony Rizzo could smash yet another homer. Chris Coghlan could stamp his re-break-out year. Neil Ramirez, Pedro Strop, and Hector Rondon could close out another win.
I would enjoy those things.
