Although there has been plenty to discuss on the Chicago Cubs and probable new manager Joe Maddon today, there hasn’t been much in the way of new news or rumors since yesterday’s break that the two sides were on the verge of a deal … that they definitely weren’t going to be announcing before the conclusion of the World Series.
I won’t lie to you, there’s still not a ton, but this from Ken Rosenthal is affirmatively new:
All systems remain “go” for Maddon and #Cubs. Announcement could come as soon as tomorrow.

Although many have speculated that a Friday announcement made sense – that’s when Maddon’s agent suggested a decision could come, and it’s also a couple days removed from the World Series – this is a firm indication that we should probably be on high alert.
Tomorrow is Halloween, so that would make the announcement extra fun, especially if it was delivered by bat or zombie or someone in a gorilla costume.
