Hey, man. I know the Will Ferrell stunt is a reasonably big deal, and for a good cause, but I’m not going to let it overshadow the Cubs’ lineup today, which features a bounty of prospects as the Cubs head to Tempe to take on the Angels.
And it’s on TV! MLB Network appears to have changed its schedule to accommodate the Ferrell stuff, so the Cubs/Angels game is now scheduled to be aired live, at least in some markets. So tune in and cross your fingers.
Otherwise, you can watch on MLB.tv, or you can listen to the audio on Cubs.com.
Jason Hammel gets his second Spring start for the Cubs, after a meh debut against the Rockies. And here’s the lineup, which is swell, except for the removed possibility of a back-to-back-to-back repeat:
- Chris Denorfia, DH
- Javier Baez, 2B
- Jorge Soler, RF
- Mike Olt, 1B
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Junior Lake, LF
- Welington Castillo, C
- Addison Russell, SS
- Matt Szczur, CF
All right, Mike Olt. It’s up to you: when you see Baez and Soler go deep, go ahead and do the same so that Bryant can keep the streak alive.
As for Ferrell, he’ll reportedly be playing first base at some point – I’m assuming for one batter? A full inning? – so keep your eyes peeled.
We see Blue. He looks glorious. #FerrellTakesTheField pic.twitter.com/0ros1TBZL2
