A night Spring Training game on ESPN? With a great Cubs lineup? Yup, I’ll take that.
Eric Jokisch gets the the start for the Cubs, who host the Angels at Sloan Park. Tonight’s game is on ESPN and should also be available on MLB.tv.
Kris Bryant is making his debut at left field – the side work didn’t take too long, apparently – and it’ll be interesting to see how he reacts out there. He’s obviously a good athlete, played out that way in college, and will probably be fine.
The Cubs lineup, which is fun for so many reasons:
- Javier Baez, 2B
- Addison Russell, SS
- Kris Bryant, LF
- Jorge Soler, RF
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Mike Olt, 3B
- Welington Castillo, C
- Eric Jokisch, P
- Matt Szczur, CF
That’s just a fun top of the order, whether it means anything or not (it doesn’t). Addison Russell spells Starlin Castro, and I wonder if he’ll be headed down in the next round of cuts.
