Ouch. That one stings.
The Cubs got another solid performance from Jon Lester, and took a tied game into the 10th inning when they scored two on a Kris Bryant single and then a Starlin Castro single. The Diamondbacks were down to their last strike twice in the bottom of the 10th when Hector Rondon gave up a double to A.J. Pollock and then a two-run homer to Paul Goldschmidt to tie it. Three innings later, the D-Backs walked it off.
Almost by definition, seasons will be full of losses like this, but, man, knowing that doesn’t make it feel any better when they happen.
