Just one Cubs game in the last three and a half days, and it was a stinker. Please play a good one today, Cubs.
Apropos of nothing: 2-inning reliever who pitches 2x per week. Minimizes usage & how often he's seen by opposing team. 100ish IP.

Get 2 of those guys in the pen, use them on days when short starter is pulled after 4 or 5IP (no 3rd time through order).

Cubs have already shown they can go with short bench. 2 relievers like that, & 5 or 6 traditional relievers. Spreads innings around better.

Key to making it work (sadly)? Getting starters to buy into the idea that the "pitcher win" is a stupid and pointless stat.
