Enhanced Box Score: Cubs 4, Reds 3 – June 13, 2015

Chicago Cubs

On the verge of a rain-shortened win, the Cubs had to come out and play after a nearly three-hour rain delay. James Russell, taking over for Kyle Hendricks, who was dominant, immediately gave up a two-run homer to allow the Reds to tie it. It did not give you the good feels.

But the bullpen held things down from there, and Starlin Castro got the walk-off single in the 9th to win it.

Castro scored Kris Bryant on the play for the second time in the game (the first coming on a replay-reversed play at the plate – kudos to Bryant for keepings his foot down on his slide, which is what made the difference), and Bryant scored three times in total. Miguel Montero hit yet another homer, as that dude is on fire.
