The Cubs played three straight one-run games against the Reds this weekend, two of which went to extra innings, and all of which saw the winning run score in the final frame.
Thankfully for the Cubs, they won two of those three, each time when Starlin Castro ripped a solid single. Saturday night, it was this one. Last night, it looked like this:

For the record, that was a pitch on the outside edge of the plate that Castro tried to pull … and did. Very hard. Into the gap.
That was the first time a Cubs player has had a walk-off hit in back-to-back games since Ron Santo in 1966, according to Elias (by way of Cubs.com).
Castro’s numbers are creeping back up, with his line reaching .268/.301/.358, and .280/.308/.460 in June (108 wRC+).
