After scurrying back to the bag in the third inning on an Anthony Rizzo pop-fly, Dexter Fowler came up a bit awkward at first base. After a short injury delay, Fowler stayed in the game and then immediately scored on Kris Bryant’s home run.
Unfortunately, Chris Coghlan pinch-hit for Fowler in his very next at bat (with Matt Szczur taking over in center), and the early word isn’t good:
Dexter Fowler left tonight's game with a sprained left ankle.

We’ll wait to learn more about the severity of the injury, but ankle sprains can range from minor to quite serious. With Jorge Soler already out with his own ankle sprain since the start of the month (he, too, stayed in the game in which he injured his ankle), losing Fowler for any stretch of time would really hurt.
