Enhanced Box Score: Dodgers 4, Cubs 0 – June 25, 2015
If you’d told me before this series that the Cubs and Dodgers would split, winning the first two (Kershaw, Greinke) and losing the second two (Bolsinger, Frias) is definitely not how I would have lodged my first guess.
The Cubs’ offense was limited today and it showed. Indeed, the entire series was something of a disappointment offensively for the Cubs, and they were probably fortunate in that respect to even win two games.
Jon Lester’s lack of command dug the Cubs an early hole, and they couldn’t climb out.
It was an odd game, what with Starlin Castro scratched to be there for the birth of his child, then entering mid-game; Kris Bryant leaving early with flu-like symptoms; the Chris’s Coghlan and Denorfia having to move all around the diamond.
