As expected, the Chicago Cubs have activated Neil Ramirez (shoulder) from the disabled list for tonight’s game against the Cardinals. For more on Ramirez’s return, you can read this morning’s write-up.
To open a spot for Ramirez on the 25-man roster, the Cubs relented and put Tsuyoshi Wada on the disabled list with the shoulder cramping issue (though it’s now termed inflammation). Because his stint is retroactive to last Tuesday, he could miss just one more start. Will Donn Roach take that start, too? Will someone else get a look? A bullpen day? Will the Cubs just skip the spot given tomorrow’s off-day?
We shall see. But Roach remains on the roster for now.
