Enhanced Box Score: Reds 9, Cubs 1 – July 22, 2015

Chicago Cubs

The box score won’t show it, but Kyle Hendricks actually pitched very well today. Two dribblers and a blooper in a row in the first inning would have been three outs most days. Today, they all went for hits, and the Reds put together a four-run first. That was all they needed, as the Cubs couldn’t do much against Mike Leake. Well, couldn’t do much except hit the ball very hard right at guys – I know you’re probably tired of hearing that, but I can only tell you what happened. Not that Leake pitched poorly, mind you … I wouldn’t mind if the Cubs pursued him this week.

As for the blowout portion of the game, Yoervis Medina did not have it today, and things got silly. On to the next.
