I am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, and on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves) – for 38 hours straight, until slightly past MLB’s July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline, thanks to your generous donations to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, news, Pre-Gamin’, EBS), as well as a significant uptick in rumor/trade posts.

News and Rumors Since the Last Recap:
There were a handful of NL Central rumors/moves here. The Giants picked up Mike Leake from the Reds. The Cubs – or maybe the Astros – are working on something with the Padres.
And, of course, the Cubs came back and beat the Brewers.
Most Interesting Tidbit Since the Last Recap:
Well, the Leake deal was big, and the Astros/Padres rumors are unnerving … but how about the Cubs winning late after being down 2-0 and looking like it was going to be a rough day at the plate?
Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:
Seems like the Cubs and Yankees are about the only buyers who haven’t bought yet. They also don’t usually get taken in deals, so I still think the patience is going to be a good thing. Probably.
Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:
Cracking open a Red Bull “Yellow” edition. I don’t really know what this is, but The Wife got me a wide selection to sample, because she’s awesome.
Just took a sip. Not super tasty, y’all. I think it’s supposed to be grapefruit.
