Considering the huge comeback yesterday, the smaller comeback the day before, and the fact that the Cubs have already won three games in this four-game series, it’d be greedy to expect the Cubs to win today, too.
But they’ve made us greedy this year. Because they’re so damn good.
Jason Hammel looks to get himself back on track after another disappointing outing last time out, in which he got smacked around on elevated offering after elevated offering by the Tigers over three innings.
The Cubs face another youngster in Matt Wisler, one of the Padres’ top pitching prospects who came over to the Braves in the Craig Kimbrel deal. So far, he hasn’t had much success, but there’s a lot of talent there.
